Drop stitch fabric (also called double wall fabric) is a great material that we can use to achieve our many imaginations. Basically, we can use it to produce a Stand-up Paddleboard and sports mattress. Go further we can use it to make a wall of SPA, inflate tent, the roof of the float tank, and lifesaving mattress, etc. Even you can make a boat with 100% drop stitch material. You can also use PVC inflatable boat fabric and material for repair work. 
Ten thousand of 100% high strength threads between the top layer and bottom layer make the material be of high performance of strength. With different processing, it can be inflated up to 30 PSI while recommended pressure is 15 PSI.

Key Technical Advantages of Drop Stitch Fabric in Inflatable Paddle Boards and Inflatable Boats

Drop Stitch Fabric is a composite material made of high-strength polyester or nylon yarns woven vertically and coated with TPU/PVC. Its application in the field of inflatable paddle boards (iSUP) and inflatable boats has completely changed the performance limit of traditional inflatable products.

1. Ultra-High Structural Stability: Vertical Yarn Weaving Technology

  • Core Principle: The uniqueness of Drop Stitch is that the upper and lower layers of fabric are connected by thousands of vertical yarns, forming a rigid "honeycomb structure" after inflation, and its deformation resistance is far superior to traditional single-layer PVC materials.
  • Industry Impact:
    • Inflatable paddle boards can withstand 15-25 PSI high pressure, comparable to the paddling stability of hard SUPs;
    • The deck bending strength of inflatable boats is improved to avoid the "soft bottom" phenomenon, suitable for high-speed sailing.
