These films are thermoplastic materials engineered to be heated and stretched over three-dimensional molds using vacuum or pressure forming. Molding and Tooling FAQ

  • Q: Does the decorative pattern become distorted in the deepest drawn areas?
  • A: Some distortion is inherent, but our films are designed with specific stretch ratios to minimize this. For highly detailed textures like wood grain, proper pattern registration and pre-stretching can mitigate severe distortion.
  • Q: Can I use the same film for both vacuum and pressure forming?
  • A: Yes, many PVC and ABS/PVC blend films are suitable for both. However, pressure forming typically demands films with slightly better surface hardness to maintain the high-gloss or matte finish under contact pressure.
