Material Selection Guide

Selection is based on the required slip rating (R-value) for the environment and the anticipated traffic volume (thickness).

• Wet/Oily Areas: Specify R11 or R12 for areas prone to water, oil, or high-viscosity spills (e.g., commercial kitchens, machine shops).

• Traffic Volume: Use 1.0mm or 1.5mm for temporary/light use. Use 2.5mm to 3.0mm for commercial vehicles and high-traffic industrial zones.

• Base Material: Choose unreinforced for maximum flexibility/dampening; choose reinforced (scrim) for superior dimensional stability and permanent installation.

Manufacturing and Tailoring

The production involves precise embossing and compounding for optimal friction and wear resistance.

• Embossing Consistency:

  The surface texture (e.g., diamond pattern depth) is strictly controlled to ensure the specified R-rating is achieved uniformly across the roll.

• Abrasion Testing: Samples are regularly tested using the Taber Abraser or similar industrial wear tests to verify the high (Group T) abrasion resistance rating.

• Antimicrobial Treatment: Fungicides and bactericides are integrated into the PVC matrix, ensuring the flooring remains hygienic in damp or food-processing environments.

Deployment FAQ

• Q: Is this flooring supplied with adhesive backing?

  A: Typically supplied without adhesive. We recommend specific industrial PVC adhesives for permanent bonding. Temporary installations rely on the material's weight and anti-skid backing.

• Q: Can this be used in freezing conditions?

  A: Standard formulations are suitable for typical cold storage (down to 0∘C). For freezers or outdoor Arctic use, specify the specialized Cold Weather Resistant (CWR) grade for guaranteed flexibility.
