Material Selection Guide

The selection criteria hinge on the required image quality (substrate smoothness) and the final display application (weight/flatness).

• Flatness: For retractable stands, specify a heavier, less porous 850GSM or higher to maximize anti-curl performance.

• Printing Method: For solvent/eco-solvent, ensure the surface is compatible. For UV/Latex, material with enhanced heat stability is often preferred.

• Lighting: Verify the thickness of the blockout layer is sufficient to prevent ghosting under the strongest anticipated backlighting (e.g., storefront windows).

Manufacturing and Tailoring

Production requires specialized multi-layer lamination or coating to integrate the opaque core.

• Blockout Core Control:

  Precision coating equipment ensures the blockout layer is perfectly centered and uniformly thick to prevent variations in opacity.

• Surface Tension Balance: The coating process on both sides is carefully controlled to balance the surface tension, which is the key to achieving optimal curl-free flatness.

• Printability Testing: The final product is tested for ink absorption rate and color vibrancy with all major digital printing technologies (Solvent, UV, Latex).

• Q: Can this material be welded?

  A: Yes, it is fully weldable. However, the internal blockout layer can make the weld slightly thicker; heat and pressure settings need to be optimized for multi-layer fabric.

• Q: Is the print surface identical on both sides (A and B)?

  A: Yes, both printable surfaces are manufactured to identical specifications for color brightness, smoothness, and ink receptivity, ensuring visual consistency.
