The tensile strength of the fabric was found to be significantly higher in the D10 than in the D8 and D5. These increases were attributed to the penetration of the low-viscosity PVC resin into the inner part of the polyester fabric and combined with polyester fiber.

This was a positive trend and increased the fabric’s tensile strength. The fabric’s tear load and peel strength were significantly decreased in the D8 and D5 specimens.

This study compared the mechanical properties of PVC coated fabrics with different viscosity PVC resins (D10, D8, D5, and D2) and different weaving structures of the base substrate. The tensile, peel, and tear tests were performed on the fabric by using a universal testing machine.
